The Attache arrived in Cape Town a few days before me for some business. Here she is at the Cape Town Waterfront.
The day she arrived she hopped on one of those "hop on hop off" rides and toured the entire city and surrounding area.
Part of the hop on hop off tour took her past some great beaches.
Here's a view from the Victoria and Alfred Hotel in Cape Town. The famous Table Mountain is in the background.
View from our hotel window.
When I arrived, I spent my first day walking around the harbor while the Attache worked.

At lunch.
Man sleeping, Cape Town Waterfont.
I think that's Desmond Tutu. There are statues of famous South Africans around the waterfront - I recognized Nelson Mandela and Mr. Tutu. I like to say Tutu.
Surinam Flag. Just kidding.
Cape Town Waterfont.
Cape Town Waterfont. They had free ongoing concerts the entire week.
Shopping Mall with holiday decorations. We couldn't get used to xmas decorations being up in summer. Summer? Figure it out.
South Africa is hosting the 2010 Soccer World Cup (in June) and the soccer decorations trumped xmas. This exhibit was my favorite - all the official world cup soccer balls since the 70s.
As part of the Attache's work I got to join her at a dinner. Part of the entertainment was african drum music. All attendees got their own drum to play and joined in. Lot of fun.
The Attache and Cindy drumming.
In case anyone is interested in a cabin for a boat....
I did my own hop on hop off tour of the city after I arrived.
I went to Seal Island. To see seals.
The wind was cold and wet but this girl didn't care. She's enjoying heading out to sea to see the seals. (Tongue twister?)
